What I Do

Original Game Design

I come up with ideas and take them all the way to a table-ready prototype. Fast iterations, clear rules, and a distinct hook. When playtesters report it’s fun and engaging, I prep it for pitching. I usually have multiple projects in motion—ask if you’re after something specific.

Collaboration

I love to co-design or offer structured, honest feedback on your current game. I work remotely and can sync across time zones—as long as we have a sensible overlap.

Community & Coaching

Active in the Danish design community with Fastaval as my home turf. I help guide new designers from idea to pitch, review contracts, and offer practical “what next?” advice. I believe we all benefit from sharing our skills.

Commissioned Work

Have a brief, IP, or tight constraints? I enjoy working with creative constraints and understand that a game is ultimately a product that must sell. Reach out if you think I can add value to your work.

Portrait of Kåre Torndahl Kjær

About Kåre

Kåre started his path into gaming with Fighting Fantasy in the mid-90s. He quickly progressed into tabletop roleplaying games, board games, miniature war games, and LARPs. These days he is mostly focusing on board games and tabletop roleplaying games.

He is active in the board-game design community in Denmark both through Fastaval and other channels and likes to collaborate with others when designing games. He likes to make all types of games, but he really likes when he can flirt with the unknown or work under strong creative constraints that make the process challenging.
